Robert N. Spicer is an assistant professor of communication at DeSales University and a doctoral student in media studies at Rutgers University. His research interests include political media, affect and popular culture. Spicer’s dissertation is entitled “Discourses of deceit: A discourse theoretical analysis of lying in politics.”
His most recent publications include “Before and after The Daily Show: Freedom and responsibility in political satire” in the book The Daily Show and rhetoric: Issues, strategies and analysis and “The Obama mass: Barack Obama, image and fear of the crowd” in The Obama Effect: Multidisciplinary renderings of the 2008 election. |
