Location plays a key role for nursing salaries. The Pacific, New England, and Mid Atlantic regions lead the way in nursing salaries.

This survey shows validity since the starting salary at LVH is 17.62 for a new RN.
Average Salary based on level of education
"Does the degree you have..."
Does the degree you have determine your salary?
"Some nurses stated that all..."
Some nurses stated that all nurses receive the same salary regardless of what degree they have.
Based on the survey this appears to be true.
"A nurse with an MSN..."
A nurse with an MSN makes the same salary as a nurse with a BSN, however the MSN offers more opportunities for higher paid positions.
Some thoughts on why nurses are not paid what they are worth.
Do salaries reflect the fact that nursing is predominantly a female profession?
Are nurses adequately compensated for their years of experience?
Do institutions compensate nurses for their many years of service?
