There are a number of practical events that must be introduced to support the administration of the system once it is implemented. These events are motivated by such things as:
Event: Form Supplies Must be Checked
Event: Hard Disk Crashes on Client PC
Event: Earthquake Destroys Data Center
Event: Communications Network Fails
Some of these events, such as the need to check form supplies and order more forms, will become evident while you are mapping the essential events into practical events. But many of them, such as hard disk crashes, deal with the need to protect the system from failures in the technology.
It is rare to find the technology failure events fully enumerated with documented methods that should be followed to overcome the failure. But, it is important to plan for such failures by adding appropriate events to safeguard the state of the system so that recovery is possible. This will lead to such events as:
Event: Administrator Expects Periodic State Backup
